The role of General Manager at Curtis Instruments (Puerto Rico),
Inc. was originally held by Engineer Miguel A. Tirado from its
inception in 1953 until his passing in 2000. He was succeeded by
Mr. Alberto Alvarado, who had also been with Curtis (PR) since
its founding. Today, Engineer Wilfrido Ramos Hernandez, a Curtis
veteran of over 20 years, serves as our current General Manager.
During the 1990s, Curtis increased the size of the Puerto Rico facility. The plant produces motor controllers and control systems for DME. The products manufactured by Curtis are the primary source of motor controllers for golf carts in the United States. Additionally, the company produces components for motorized wheelchairs, mobility chairs for the disabled, forklifts, and industrial vehicles with dual drivers. Curtis continues to strengthen its market position and maintain leadership in speed control technology for electric vehicles.
